River of Hope ist ein gemeinnütziger Verein und wurde im 2010 in Buchs /SG gegründet. Ohne einen Cent, aber mit 46 kg Fussballmaterial und zwei gefüllten Koffern, lancierten wir ein Fussballprojekt im Kongo. Seit Anfang 2013 konnten wir auf einem Terrain von 4 Hektaren eine komplette Infrastruktur Zentrum „Tala Mosika" im Dorf Selo (ausserhalb Kinshasa) aufbauen. In diesem Dorf leben etwas über 1’000 Menschen in absoluter Armut.
Im Zentrum „Tala Mosika” eröffneten wir eine Primar- und Sekundarschule mit Berufs-bildung und Internat, wo inzwischen über 330 Schüler unterrichtet werden. Die Einrichtung verfügt über eine Kantine, ein Nähatelier, eine Krankenstation sowie eine Unterkunft für das Personal. Ausserdem gibt es eine Fussballschule und inzwischen auch ein Agrikulturprogramm für die Selbstversorgung. Obwohl die Schule inzwischen staatlich anerkannt ist, warten wir leider immer noch auf die vom Staat zugesagte finanzielle Unterstützung. Mit viel Mühe, Geduld und einem mikroökonomischen Ansatz helfen wir den Menschen ihrer Armut zu entkommen und geben ihnen eine Zukunftsperspektive.

River of Hope is a non-profit association and was founded in 2010 in Buchs /SG. Without a cent, but with 46 kg of football material and two filled suitcases, we launched a football project in the Congo. Since the beginning of 2013, we have been able to build a complete infrastructure centre "Tala Mosika" in the village of Selo (outside Kinshasa) on a terrain of 4 hectares. In this village, just over 1,000 people live in absolute poverty.
In the center "Tala Mosika" we opened a primary and secondary school with vocational training and boarding school, where more than 330 pupils are now taught. The facility has a canteen, a sewing studio, a hospital ward and accommodation for the staff. There is also a football school and an agricultural programme for self-sufficiency. Although the school is now state-approved, we are unfortunately still waiting for the financial support promised by the state. With much effort, patience and a microeconomic approach we help the people to escape their poverty and give them a perspective for the future.

River of Hope est une association à but non lucratif fondée en 2010 à Buchs /SG en Suisse. Sans aucun moyen financier et qu’avec deux valises remplies avec 46 kg de matériel de football, nous avons lancé un projet de football au Congo. Depuis le début de l'année 2013, nous avons pu acheter un terrain de 4 ha pour y établir l'infrastructure d’un centre complet, "Tala Mosika", dans le village de Selo (près de Kinshasa). Dans ce village vivent environ 1'000 personnes, dans la pauvreté absolue.
Au centre "Tala Mosika", nous avons ouvert une école primaire et secondaire avec formation professionnelle et internat, où plus de 330 élèves sont actuellement scolarisés. L'établissement dispose d'une cantine, un atelier de couture, un dispensaire, et logement pour le personnel. En outre, il y a une école de football et maintenant aussi un programme agricole pour l'autosuffisance. Bien que l'école soit maintenant approuvée par l'État, nous attendons malheureusement toujours le soutien financier promis par les autorités. Avec beaucoup d'efforts, de patience, et une approche microéconomique nous aidons les gens à sortir de leur pauvreté et leur donnons une perspective pour l'avenir.
