Dieses Projekt hat mich gefunden. Wir haben ohne einen Cent und mit 46 kg Fussballmaterial mit der Vision begonnen das Fussballs der Grundstein unseres Projektes ist. – 10 Jahre später ein Zentrum auf 5ha mit über 330 Schülern die bei uns mit der Matura abschliessen können. 

10 Jahre schauten wir voraus – es ist Zeit für einen Blick zurück und mein Bauchgefühl sagt mir, dass er besser ist als sein Ruf. Ein Blick auf unsere Erfolge, Hindernisse und Herausforderungen

Mein Antrieb und meine Idee wie Entwicklungshilfe aussehen könnte war stärker als all die Kritik was alles schieflaufen könnte.

Seit 10 Jahren bin ich Präsidentin & Projektleiterin meiner NGO « River of Hope » Gerne nehme ich Sie auf eine Reise in den Kongo mit und gebe Ihnen einen Einblick, wie wir im Zentrum Tala Mosika Menschen vom Zuschauen ins mitmachen und mitgestalten animieren damit sie lernen Ihre Potenziale zu erkennen und zu entwickeln. Ziel ist, dass sie ein Teil der Entwicklung werden, denn Fortschritt kann nur durch die Umsetzung der lokalen Bevölkerung stattfinden. Nachhaltigkeit ist es nur dann, wenn sie selbst die Verantwortung für sich und das Projekt übernehmen können ohne immer auf die Hilfe zu warten und abhängig zu werden.

Ein Dokumentarfilm zum Reflektieren, Nachdenken und sich inspirieren zulassen

Der Drehort liegt ca. 60km ausserhalb der Hauptstadt Kinshasa, DRC im Dorf Selo, wo sich auch unser Zentrum befindet. Wir beleuchten die täglichen Herausforderungen und zeigen auf, warum es so schwierig ist, das Vertrauen der in Armut lebenden Bevölkerung zu gewinnen und wie diese Menschen sich gemeinsam dafür einsetzen, stetig und mit viel Geduld Fortschritte zu erzielen, um sich aus dem Zyklus der Armut zu befreien. Ganz langsam und mit kleinen Schritten.

Claudia Doron, Produzentin dieses Dokumentarfilms, Gründerin und Projektleiterin von River of Hope, beantwortet in diesem Film Fragen, wie Entwicklungshilfe in ihrem Fall aussieht, wieso sie ohne Geld und ohne ein spezifisches Projekt zu haben, einen gemeinnützigen Verein gründete und dann im Kongo landete. Ganz besonders möchte sie aber zum Nachdenken darüber anregen, wie sich jeder von uns auf irgendeine Weise für eine bessere Welt einsetzen kann, indem man vom Denken ins Handeln kommt.

 This project found me. In 2010 I started without a cent and 46 kg of football material with a vison of football being a foundation stone of our project. 10 years later, a center on 5 acres with over 330 students who can reach a high school diploma with us.

After 10 years looking ahead – it’s time to look back and my gut feeling tells me that it is better than its reputation. A look at our successes, obstacles and challenges.

My drive and my idea of what development aid could look like, was stronger than all the criticism of what could go wrong with it.

For the past 10 years I have been president & project manager of my NGO " River of Hope " I would like to invite you on a trip to Congo and give you an insight on how we encourage people at the Center Tala Mosika from only watching to participate so that they learn to recognize and develop their potential. The goal is that they become a part of their development, because progress can only take place through the implementation of the local population. We can only talk about sustainability if they can take over responsibility for themselves and the project without always waiting for help and become more and more dependent.

A documentary to reflect, to think about, and to get inspired 

The film location is about 60km outside the capital Kinshasa, DRC in the village of Selo, where our center is located. We highlight the daily challenges and show why it is so difficult to gain the trust of the people living in poverty. How these people work together to make steady and patient progress to free themselves from the cycle of poverty. Very slowly and with small steps.

Claudia Doron, producer of this documentary film, founder and project manager of River of Hope, answers questions in this film about how development aid looks like in her case, why she founded a non-profit organisation without money and without having a specific project, and how she ended up in the Congo. In particular, she wants to encourage us to think about how each of us can do something work for a better world by moving from thinking into action.
